2nd International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding announced

The Geneva Graduate Institute has announced that the second International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding will take place in Geneva from the 2nd to the 4th of February 2022. The conference has been convened in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP),  the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, the Geneva Water Hub, the Geneva Environment Network, and the PeaceNexus Foundation. While the agenda is still being refined, it already includes 5 training sessions, and 65+ panels and roundtables, with 100+ experts from 50+ countries, including Louise van Schaik from the Planetary Security Initiative.

The conference consists of the following thematic tracks

  1. Climate change 
  2. Rights and justice 
  3. Public health 
  4. Business and markets, and 
  5. Building the evidence base. 

The process leading to the Second Conference—“The Road to Geneva”—is consultative, engaging practitioners, researchers, decision-makers, and students from around the globe. This includes both events and initiatives in the run-up to the conference. If you are interested in the field of environmental peacebuilding, then this conference is not to be missed.
