On December 11 2019, from 3.30 to 5pm, Climate Diplomacy, the German Federal Foreign Office and adelphi will co-host a COP25 side event in the German Pavillion in Madrid, Spain.
This side event will take stock of progress made at the international level on climate, peace and security. Climate change is increasingly shaping international security. The session aims at making the COP community aware of the climate-security nexus and focus a debate on integrated risk analysis, mitigation and management. It will discuss potential pathways for action how to deal with climate-security risks in Latin America and beyond - this includes the UN Security Council as one forum among others.
