Mr. Pieter Wit

A graduate from Wageningen University Piet Wit’s working experience is with biodiversity conservation and integrated management of natural resources .
Piet has been Chair of IUCN’s Commission on Ecosystem Management from 2008 – 2016.
For his work on the Przewalski Horse he was awarded with Mongolia’s Friendship medal. Currently Piet is involved with the protection of Chimpanzees in Guinea Bissau.
As Major (R) Piet Wit has been serving with the Royal Netherlands Army in Afghanistan. He wrote an instruction booklet for military field commanders on environmental issues.
Piet Wit is member of the Global Military Council on Climate Change (GMACCC)
