About Dalee Dorough

Ms. Dorough has a PhD in Law, International Law, and Human Rights. She is specialized in public international law, international relations, development and evolution of international Indigenous human rights standards, human rights law, political and legal relations between nation-states and Aboriginal peoples, and the status of Alaska Natives. Ms. Dorough has been active in the promotion and protection of Indigenous human rights at the United Nations, International Labor Organization, Organization of American States and with Alaska Native tribal governments. Currently, she is working at the University of Alaska Anchorage as associate professor of Political Science. Other present positions are the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues,  Expert Member and Vice Chairperson; United Nations Voluntary Fund for Indigenous Populations, Member of the Board of trustees; and Human Rights Advisor, Inuit Circumpolar Council.
