Said Nazir belongs to Pakistan’s tribal areas bordering Afghanistan and is the Managing Editor and Co-founder of Tribal News Network (TNN), a radio and multimedia platform providing local and relevant news mainly ignored by mainstream media to an audience in northwest Pakistan. After covering terrorism, politics, and governance as a radio and print journalist for over 13 years, Said has recently become interested in reporting on climate change and its impact on local populations. This is why TNN, in May 2018, launched a project with the support of Internews Europe to train 24 reporters, male and female, from KP and FATA regions on reporting the issues of climate change and environmental protection in order to build journalists’ capacity and help sensitize local populations on these topics. With the emergence of Mojo, Said Nazir’s interest has also grown in digital storytelling and he wants to use these skills to highlight otherwise boring subjects like climate change and natural disasters.
